Headteacher Dr Emma Margrett describes Westminster Abbey Choir School as a purpose-built, highly specialised choir school that provides a complete preparatory boarding education tailored to choristers, with small classes and strong pastoral care.
Sports
There is a learning support teacher who visits weekly; additional educational assessments can be requested and the cost of educational psychology reports is borne by parents.
Boys typically start in Year 4 (around age 8). Admissions involve an informal hearing followed by a formal audition; visits to the school and academic/ musical tasks are part of the process. The school is not academically selective and looks for musical potential, a clear voice, good ear, and willingness to learn. There is also an option to visit Chorister Experience days and discussions with the headteacher.
From September 2025 the school fees will be £3,903.34 per term. Fees are heavily subsidised by Westminster Abbey (80% subsidy; parents contribute about 20% for board and lodging). Means-tested bursaries are available on request. For more details, contact the School Business Manager ([email protected]).
