Hampden Gurney is the parish school and has always been closely associated with the church of the Annunciation. The children attend mass in church three times a year and the parish clergy conduct mass in school every week.

Head Teacher's Message

A warm welcome from our Headteacher, Evelyn Chua: Hampden Gurney is a one form entry Church of England primary school with approximately 240 pupils, serving Westminster since 1863. The vision seeks first-class, spiritual education and a curriculum that develops talents in a happy, resilient and reverent way. The school emphasises inclusive education, strong leadership, and close partnership with parents and the Parish Church, providing a caring, faith-based learning environment.

Admissions Criteria

Admits a maximum of 30 Reception pupils; for 2026/27 intake, children born 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021; as a voluntary aided Church of England school with close links to its parish church, daily worship and Religious Education; applications via Westminster Pan London admissions; church attendance information required via a Supplementary Information Form (SIF); open morning held annually in autumn; Nursery intake procedures and admissions policy available.

Financial Information

The cost of School Dinners is now being covered by the Government’s Universal School Meals scheme for all year groups, including Nursery. The government funding does not cover the cost of full-time attendance in Nursery.
