A Catholic primary school with a strong Catholic ethos. Religious Education is delivered using The Way the Truth and the Life scheme following Diocesan guidelines; there is multi-faith teaching and a policy of teaching other faiths (Judaism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam) in different year groups. The school emphasises Saints, collective worship, and living out Gospel values, with activities such as Faith Ambassadors and School Councillors contributing to Catholic Life and Mission.

SEND Provision

Good Shepherd is an inclusive school that supports pupils with SEND. The school uses a Graduated Response (Assess, Plan, Do and Review) to identify and address needs, with in-house assessments and the involvement of outside agencies when needed. There are opportunities for parent consultations, termly reviews for SEND plans, and transition support; staff training includes a range of SEND-focused topics; attendance and behaviour are monitored as part of SEND provision.

Admissions Criteria

The school is a Voluntary Aided school with the Governing Body as Admissions Authority on behalf of the Archdiocese of Southwark. It welcomes applications from families of all faiths and none. For Reception 2026, applicants should use the e-admissions system; Catholic families should provide baptism certificates and a Certificate of Catholic Practice. In-Year admissions are handled via Lewisham, and Nursery applications have separate procedures. The school also provides Admissions Policy documents for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.
