Curriculum Highlights

Uses a systematic synthetic phonics scheme with Little Wandle for phonics and reading in EYFS and KS1; Daily Supported Reading in Y1-Y2; some elements of DSR in KS2 as catch‑up or reading programme; whole class reading approach. Curriculum is contextualised and designed to be challenging with knowledge reinforced and deepened; emphasises oracy, writing and the arts, including a class learning a musical instrument from Y3 to Y6 (recorder, ukulele, guitar, drums). Knowledge Organisers are used half-termly to outline key knowledge and Curriculum Overviews showing what is taught in each subject (e.g., Year 4 and other year groups). The curriculum aims for children to remember, understand connections, and see the ‘bigger picture’ of learning.
