Curriculum Highlights

English is core to the curriculum, with daily phonics in Early Years and Key Stage 1, daily reading emphasis, and reading programs including Daily Supported Reading in KS1 and Destination Reader in KS2. Mathematics taught across the school using a mastery approach, with emphasis on fluency, reasoning and problem‑solving; cross‑curricular links and a concrete–pictorial–abstract progression; White Rose Maths Hub calculation policy used. Science aims to build knowledge and understanding, with emphasis on enquiry, investigation and experimentation; Science taught across EYFS with exploration of the natural world. Creative Curriculum covers History, Geography, Music, Art, DT, PSHE and PE through engaging topics (e.g., Fire! Fire!, Rotten Romans, Groovy Greeks) and includes visits, visitors and outdoor learning.

Admissions are determined by Lewisham Council’s published admissions criteria. Priority is given in this order: 1) Children in care or with adoption/residence/special guardianship orders; 2) Children with exceptional medical or social needs for a particular school (supported by professional documentation); 3) Children whose brother/sister already attends Launcelot (including half/foster siblings); 4) Children living closest to the school (straight‑line distance); 5) In exceptional circumstances, acute medical or social need (supported in writing by a professional); 6) Children of teachers may be given priority if it enables the teacher to take up/retain a post.
