SEND Provision

The Wing is Beacon High's SEND provision, created to help students with additional needs find a place where they can belong, and where they can thrive. The Wing provides close support network and personalised provision with a range of small group classes tailored to the student’s needs, supplementing mainstream lessons. In addition to GCSE qualifications, some alternative qualifications may be awarded based on a portfolio of evidence gathered throughout the year.

Admissions Criteria

Beacon High is a community secondary school for 11-16 year olds. Admissions are in line with Islington Community Secondary Schools: In cases of over-subscription, priority is given in this order: Looked-after children and those who have been adopted; Siblings; Exceptional social, medical or special educational needs; Nearest distance; Multiple births (where one place is available, the next child who qualifies may be admitted to the same school to support the family).
